Facebook 101:Posting Photos
They say, “A picture is worth a thousand words.” but if the picture is on Facebook, it’s more like “A picture is worth a thousand
comments.”
Pictures! Once taken on Polaroid cameras for instant gratification. Then there was the film you had to send away to be developed or take to the local photo store, while you anxiously waited for days to see how the pictures came out.
Now, the digital world has allowed us to take photos and instantly decide if they’re keepers or if we should just press “delete.” And thank you technology! Now we can share those photos instantly around the globe through multiple sites, one being Facebook.
One of the best features about Facebook is the ability to add, delete, and comment on photos. When finding friends from long ago or from yesterday, sauntering through their photos is half the fun. It’s like a digital photo album without having to leave your house and enter there’s.
Looking at others’ photos is easy. Adding your own photos to your own personal album is where some people get hung up. First go to your own profile. Once there, click on “photos” at the top of the menu bar. This will take you to your photos but you’ll also have the opportunity to create a new photo album. Click the button to create your album.
At this point you can select an Album name, location and description. You can also select how private or public you want these photos to be. You can then begin uploading your photos. Before they are published on your profile, you have the ability to edit the photos, crop, organize them edit the information pertaining to them and of course delete.
One of the great features about adding photos is that you can add a caption and even “tag” the person or persons in the photo. Click the photo and you can type the person’s name. This photo will be sent to the person you tagged with a message that states, “Your Name has tagged you in one of their photos.”
I’ve personally posted photos where I didn’t know everyone in the photo. Someone had seen the photo and sent me a request asking pemission to tag the person in this photo as it was someone they recognized. In this case, I allowed them to tag the photo and add the person’s name.
When your adding, editing and tagging is complete, simply click, “publish now” and your photos will be shared throughout your facebook world. When your photos are uploaded and on your profile… the fun begins as your friends now have the opportunity to not only look at your photos, but to comment on them as well. So grab your camera and start clicking away!
